IPTV Multi-View: several channels from your playlist on one screen
With BurgTV Multi-View you split your TV screen into tiles and follow up to 4 channels at once on Fire TV, Google TV and Android TV. BurgTV is a neutral player: you bring your own source, and how many channels you can open also depends on it.
What is Multi-View?
Multi-View shows several live channels from your own playlist (M3U, Xtream Codes, Jellyfin or Portal) on the same screen, each in its own tile. It’s handy when you want to keep an eye on several events at the same time, leave the news running while you watch something else, or compare two live broadcasts. It works only in the TV app (Fire TV, Google TV, Android TV) and is a Premium feature. There is no Multi-View on phones or tablets.
How to open it
- Install BurgTV on your TV device from download.burgtv.com and activate Premium with your account.
- Add your source under Settings > My Lists > Add playlist (or from the Welcome screen on first launch).
- Open live TV, go to the Multi-View feature and pick the channels for each tile.
- Select the tile you want to hear: audio plays from one tile at a time, and you can move it to another channel whenever you like.
How many connections do you need?
Each tile opens a separate stream, so it uses one connection from your source. Four channels at once means four simultaneous connections. Many subscriptions only allow 1 or 2: check how many yours allows before opening more tiles. If your source allows a single connection, Multi-View cannot work with several channels from that same source: the second tile would be refused by the server, not by the player.
The connection limit is set by your source, not by BurgTV. If one tile stays black or drops while the others play, this limit is the most likely cause.
Recommended devices
- Up to 4 channelsOn TV devices with enough memory you can open up to four tiles together.
- 2 on low memoryBelow 1.5 GB of RAM, Multi-View stops at two tiles so playback stays smooth.
- More RAM, more tilesFire TV, Google TV, Android TV boxes and TVs: the more memory, the better it handles several channels.
- Not on phonesPhones and tablets have no Multi-View; there you get Picture-in-Picture instead.
Multi-View and Premium
Premium for TV is activated on app.burgtv.com: CHF 8.90 per year (with a 7-day free trial on the yearly plan) or CHF 25.90 one-time, valid on up to 5 devices across TV and Android with the same account.
| In the TV app | Free | Premium |
|---|---|---|
| Live TV and TV guide | Yes | Yes |
| Multi-View (up to 4 channels) | No | Yes |
| Picture-in-Picture | No | Yes |
| Live TV timeshift | No | Yes |
| Playlists | Partly 1 | Yes unlimited |
The alternative: Picture-in-Picture
If you just want to keep watching the channel in a small window while you do something else, there’s Picture-in-Picture: in the TV app it’s part of Premium, and you’ll also find it on Android phones and on iPhone. PiP keeps the video in a small window while you do something else; Multi-View splits the whole screen between several channels from your playlist.

Frequently asked questions
How many channels can I watch at once with BurgTV?
Up to 4 in the TV app. On devices with less than 1.5 GB of RAM the limit is 2. Either way, it also depends on how many connections your source allows.
Why won’t the second tile start?
Almost always it’s your source’s connection limit: each tile uses one. If your subscription allows only one, you can’t open two channels from the same source at once.
Do I hear the audio of every channel?
No, audio comes from one tile at a time. You choose which one to listen to and can switch whenever you like.
Does Multi-View work on a phone or iPhone?
No, Multi-View is only in the TV app (Fire TV, Google TV, Android TV). On Android phones and iPhone you can use Picture-in-Picture.
Is Multi-View free?
No, it’s part of Premium on TV: CHF 8.90 per year (7 days free on the yearly plan) or CHF 25.90 one-time.
