IPTV player with parental controls and a Kids profile
On Fire TV, Google TV and Android TV, BurgTV lets you decide what children can watch: a 4-digit PIN, a minimum age, blocked channels and a Kids profile that only shows suitable titles. BurgTV is a neutral player: you bring your own source, and the controls apply to what you play from your playlist.
What the Kids profile protects
- Maximum age 12The Kids profile only shows titles rated up to 12, or up to a lower limit you choose.
- Age ratingsMovies and series are rated by age using public data from TMDB.
- Unrated titles hiddenIf a title has no rating yet, it stays hidden: better to hide a title than to show the wrong one.
- PIN to leaveOnce a PIN is set, leaving the Kids profile requires the PIN.
Free parental controls
Parental controls are part of the free version of BurgTV for TV. You don’t need Premium to protect the family TV:
- 4-digit PIN that only you know.
- Minimum Age: choose All Ages, 7+, 12+, 14+, 16+ or 18+.
- Block a single channel: in the channel list, press and hold OK on the channel and choose Block channel. Unblock it under Settings > Security > Blocked channels.
Daily limit and viewing hours per profile
For each profile you can set a Daily Limit and a time window (Viewing Times: from, to). That way the youngest one’s profile can watch, say, only in the afternoon and only for as long as you decided, while the other profiles stay unrestricted. Times and limits only apply to the profile you set them on; since they work on profiles, they need Premium profiles.
How to set it up step by step
- Install BurgTV on your TV (Fire TV guide or Google TV and Android TV setup) and add your playlist.
- Open Settings > Security: this is the parental control screen. Turn it on and create your 4-digit PIN (Set/Change PIN).
- Choose the Minimum Age (All Ages, 7+, 12+, 14+, 16+ or 18+).
- With Premium: go to Settings > Profiles > Add Profile, enter a name and turn on Kids.
- Back in Settings > Security, set Viewing Times and the Daily Limit for that profile.
- If you like, block individual channels by pressing and holding OK in the list.
Honest limits
- Ratings rely on public TMDB data and may not match every title in your source, for example titles with an unusual name. That is why unrated titles stay hidden in the Kids profile.
- Recordings: in the Kids profile a recording asks for the PIN if its title or channel is blocked, but recordings are not filtered by age. See the recording guide.
- Parental controls apply to what plays through BurgTV: they do not filter other apps on the TV.
- Profiles and the Kids profile exist only on TV: the phone and tablet apps have no profiles.
Privacy: what is sent
To rate a movie or series, BurgTV only sends the title and year. No personal data, no profile names, no playlist address. PIN, limits and blocked channels stay on the TV device. App analytics are optional and off by default.

Frequently asked questions
Are BurgTV parental controls free?
Yes. On TV, the 4-digit PIN, minimum age and single-channel blocking are free. Profiles, the Kids profile and per-profile limits need Premium.
How do I block a single IPTV channel?
Turn on parental controls with a PIN, then press and hold OK on the channel in the list and choose Block channel. Unblock it under Settings > Security > Blocked channels.
Does the Kids profile filter every movie in my playlist?
It only shows titles rated up to 12 (or the lower limit you chose). Titles that TMDB cannot rate stay hidden, so some suitable titles may not appear.
Can my child leave the Kids profile?
Not if you have set a PIN: leaving the Kids profile requires it.
Are parental controls available on phones too?
Profiles and the Kids profile are only in the TV app for Fire TV, Google TV and Android TV. The phone and tablet apps do not have them.
